Robert Carl Blank releases new album - Last Time I Saw Dave
LAST TIME I SAW DAVE is the second album by singer / songwriter Robert Carl Blank, and it is an unusual second album. They say that the second album decides between actual artists and mayfly, since most bands use their best songs from a number of years history on the first album and their breath is just not sufficient to write a second album of the same quality.
If this is true, Robert Carl Blank has proved that he belongs to the former category, because the songs on LAST TIME I SAW DAVE are masterfully written, lyrically and musically. Twelve little gems, which you can take with you, and by telling from different worlds and things, which accompany your live as friends.
From the opener 'Times Like These', a happy and thoughtful point about the everyday small barriers in life, via the beautiful love song 'Pie In The Sky', which with its long, by acoustic guitar and bass-dominated outro recalls to 'Astral Weeks' by Van Morrison, to 'Memories', an Irish-influenced ballad about the memories of youth and childhood, Robert Carl Blank sings much clearer, more communicating and more extroverted than on his previous album "Soul Circus".
Accompanied by his band and many guest musicians, Robert has made an authenticl and gentle singer / songwriter album with a lot of pop appeal. LAST TIME I SAW DAVE is a soundtrack which movie will be rewritten by each of us every day. And that is why it is valid for a long time to preserve its own. Apart from the mandatory CD version with eleven titles, plus one "hidden track", the album is available as an exclusive double vinyl with bonus material in the form of three more tracks.
